4 Benefits of Blogging for Business
Consistent blogging is an increasingly popular and highly effective way of building brand awareness. It offers a means to attract the target audience by sharing relevant and well-written content. It has proven to be a fruitful approach towards customer engagement, but for reaping good results – you can’t be lazy.
Blogs provide benefits long after you start publishing. But ensure creating a blog that is worth reading and is capable of catching the viewer’s attention, something I have covered extensively in How to write an effective blog.
Blogging helps your business grow, and although its effects may seem insignificant at the beginning, consistent and informative blogging will help your business in the long run in following ways –
1. It will increase traffic to your website
Posting frequent and good quality content increases your website’s traffic. More traffic contributes to more brand awareness. It allows you to remind the world about what your company does and even show how well you’re doing it. Once somebody lands on the blog and enjoys your content, they will keep coming back for more. As you continue publishing good content frequently, the blogs will accumulate and so will the repeat readers. You will soon notice an increase in traffic to your website, driven by your blog.
2. It will attract new customers
Blogs can be used as a marketing tool to attract new customers. We have already seen that consistent blogs increase traffic to your website, attracting new leads. Simply put – as the traffic increases, the number of potential customers increases too (the more the merrier). And with more people viewing your content and ultimately your company’s website, the conversion is likely to increase. But for that to happen, your blogs have to attract visitors that are actually converting. This is why the choice of keywords is a critical factor here. You need to focus on keywords that send you customers.
3. It will build a flow of trust
People tend to trust the written word, and frequently publishing good quality and well-written blogs provide a means to build that trust. By the virtue of consistently coming up with interesting blogs, you demonstrate trustworthiness.
Giving a personal touch to your blog can help readers to become familiar with your brand. Familiarity breeds attraction as well as trust, and through this, readers will be able to develop a deeper bond with your brand. Somebody who regularly reads your blog often naturally has a trusting relationship with you.
When a business succeeds in establishing trust, its reputation spreads more quickly. Frequent and consistent blogging is an effective way for your brand to build this trust.
4. It increases your brand’s Visibility, leading to more Brand Awareness
You need to spend resources to build brand awareness and blogs accomplish this task by acting as a publishing platform for your business. It allows you to speak directly to potential customers and educate them about the business.
Note that ‘educate’ is not the same as ‘sell’. Educating is more relevant and trustworthy than pure selling.
Posting blogs regularly gives you a chance to show a personal side of your business that can not be displayed through outbound marketing techniques. Blogging promotes the corporate standards, vision, and personality of your company.
